There are a few main types of laser effects :
Aerial Beam Shows
Overhead beam shows are one of the most popular laser effects, essentially painting the sky / ceiling with beautiful colours and complex patterns of intersecting grids of light. Reaching out over the audience in an almost 3D like effect. All that’s needed is a light haze in the air.
Some great effects can be achieved with even the simplest patterns, or they can be infinitely complex. Likewise laser effects can be made gentle and smooth when desired or incredibly intense.
Audience Scanning
There’s nothing quite like being surrounded by beautiful colours and complex patterns, completely bathed in laser light, this is known as audience scanning. In order to ensure eye safety, audience scanning requires adherence to a strict set of regulations, as well as complex calculations and measurements to ensure that laser intensity remains within the safe and allowed range, and that each exposure / pulse is less than 1 millisecond.
Specialized laser hardware built with backups and redundancies is needed to ensure that no circumstances of hardware or software failure can lead to exceeding established safe limits
We are excited to be able to offer audience scanning as an option, with certain limitations such as venue size. I am an ILDA certified LSO (Laser Safety Officer), and the lasers we use are fully equipped with the necessary safety and backup systems.
Graphics
The intense brightness and complex colours of modern lasers and ability to scan more complex artwork such as logos and graphics has made lasers into a great way to advertise, allowing for any surface to be used in ways that just aren’t possible with conventional signs or displays.
